VoxPro was awarded the tender for the Environmental Protection Agency Illegal Dumping Line in 2008.  VoxPro manages the 24 x 7 x 365 line and log incidents reported by the general public in relation to illegal waste activities.

Following criteria provided by the EPA, the VoxPro Project Co-ordinator determines the appropriate action, which involves taking the details of the report for investigation by the appropriate agencies and, if necessary, escalating the incidents that require immediate action by EPA, local authorities or Gardaí.

VoxPro was able to fully incorporate the requirements of the EPA into their service provision including integration of the existing EPA database and setting up of a system to record and archive all calls to the illegal dumping reporting line. The EPA are also able to log in remotely to the VoxPro database and view incident reports, run summary reports etc.

As well as provision of reporting, VoxPro regularly meets with the EPA to provide feedback on the service and any recommendations to enhance and streamline it further to the EPA’s benefit.  This has led to VoxPro working with the EPA on a campaign to further increase awareness of the Illegal Dumping Reporting line to stakeholders involved such as community libraries.
